January 15: The town of Tlachichuca(8,300') looking toward El Pico de Orizaba in the distance. The Reyes' climber's hostel is to the right out of the camera view. Note the PEMEX station that is literally across the street from the Reyes compound. We found a great little cafe with tacos, but no carne asada. The funny thing was that hamburgers and hot dogs were more common than tacos at the cafes. |

January 15: This photo is from the courtyard of the Reyes compound. The truck with the white camper is the transport vehicle to Piedra Grande. This picture was taken as we were preparing to leave. |

January 15: As Rob was taking pictures, Dan was taking video of the interior of the compound. Directly behind are horse stables. There was also a collection of friendly guard dogs in the yard. |

January 15::
Neglecting to take an interior shot of the bathroom, a photo of the sign was captured. The showers were nice and hot! This was great after two days on the mountain. |

January 15:: Here is the interior of the climber's hostel. Beds were up the stairs you see on the right and the gear room is the large opening on the right. The people in the photo are also from Colorado and we ened up riding to Piedra Grande together. |

January 15::, 1:30pm: This was our first photo op on the ride to Piedra Grande. The ride takes about 2 hours and covers about 5650' in 13 miles. This photo was taken from 11,897' as the landscape turned to pine forest. Probably due to dust, you are in an enclosed cab with small windows for most of the ride. This limits photo ops. |
