Mt. Elbert Waypoint notes:
All points were taken via Garmin eTrex Legend.  These points were obviously captured on two separate ascents.  Included are the driving approaches, and the hiking routes.

The Halfmoon driving approach is waypoints Halfmoon Rd through Parking Area.  The key turn points are Halfmoon Rd. and Road 2.

The Lakeview campground approach is indicated as Lakeview 1 & Lakeview 2, with Lakeview 2 being where the car was parked when the route was recorded.  If you take the 4x4 approach past Lakeview campground, simply start following the E Ridge waypoints after Lakeview 2.  Since this route was recorded in March, the exact drivable waypoint was not captured.  It is safe to say that there would be no passage by car after waypoint E Ridge 4.

For an ascent of the NE Ridge Route, take the Halfmoon approach, and then follow waypoints  NE Ridge 1 - 10 and end at the Mt. Elbert Summit.

For the E. Ridge route, take the Lakeview approach, and then use  waypoints E Ridge 1 - E. Ridge 10 , ending at the waypoint Mt. Elbert Summit.  This route was capture on a snow climb in March.  From some feedback, the waypoints sound like the are pretty close.  Even with snow, the upper mountain may have visible carins as a result of wind blowing.

Enjoy & be safe!
